Luke, our Sports Coordinator, has a quick and easy exercise tip that can be done at home without any equipment and also a healthy eating tip!
The Plank – The plank is a great exercise for your core strength, which is your stomach and back. Lie face down with forearms on the floor and hands clasped. Extend the legs behind the body and rise up on the toes. Keeping the back straight, tighten the core and hold the position for 30-60 seconds or for as long as you can!
SUPER START YOUR DAY!
Don’t be tempted to skip breakfast, even if you’re trying to lose weight. If you have a healthy breakfast in the morning you’re less likely to want to snack before lunch. If you need to grab breakfast in a hurry then a banana is great, or, if you have a bit more time, why not prepare some banana and chocolate over night oats? All you will need is:
• 250ml of almond milk
• 2 scoops (60g) of protein powder (any flavour – great for building muscle!)
• 1 ripe banana roughly chopped
• 1/2 tablespoon of cocoa powder (over 70% cocoa)
• 75g rolled oats
• A little grated dark chocolate, to serve
Place all the ingredients apart from the rolled oats and dark chocolate in a blender and blitz until smooth. Pour the mixture over the oats and stir well. Leave to soak in a sealable container in the fridge for at least 8 hours, or overnight. When you’re ready to eat, sprinkle the dark chocolate over the top. An easy, healthy breakfast that can be prepared in minutes!
