Volunteering | Birmingham Vision

Volunteering

We offer a range of volunteering opportunities at Birmingham Vision, whether you want to offer your time and support our sports services, or you would like to donate you time at one of our social events, we have a range of options for you.

We work with in partnership with Focus Birmingham who provide volunteers to assist our Eye Clinic Liaison Officers giving advice and support to patients who are interested in the service.

Recruitment

We constantly try to encourage and recruit new volunteers to support Birmingham Vision. We offer Sight Loss awareness training and carry out DBS checks so our service users can be confident that our volunteers are trained and safe.

Our objective for volunteers is that of building confidence and enthusiasm so that they enjoy being part of our services and to support blind and partially sighted people.

Volunteers are rewarded in many ways, with confidence building, socialising and enjoying the variety of activities we provide through our range of activities.

Vital support

Within sports, volunteers are crucial in enabling that any open days and taster sessions that are delivered, run smoothly and effectively.

We have a number of sporting events taking place over the coming months, where having the support of volunteers is vital.

If any of these volunteering opportunities sound of interest to you, please get in touch.
